Our Policies

The following are the terms and conditions for renting Ocean Spirit Vacation Rentals.

Deposits
A $300.00 security deposit is due upon making your reservation. The deposit may be paid by Visa, MasterCard, personal check or money order.

Rent
Full rental payment is due 60 days prior to arrival. If your payment is not received by the due date, your reservation will be subject to cancellation. Rent must be paid in U.S. funds by check, money order, Visa or MasterCard.

Cancellations
You have the right to cancel with 60 days notice prior to arrival date. With timely cancellation notice, all advance funds will be returned less a $60 cancellation fee. If written notice is received in less than 60 days, all advance funds will be forfeited unless we can re-book your rental dates. No refunds will be given for early departure, as you are responsible for the entire time booked once within the non-cancellation period.

Travel Insurance
We highly recommend that you secure travel insurance to protect you against any cancellations that may occur.

Minimum Stay Requirements
There is a 3 night minimum stay for all bookings.

Check-in Time
4:00 p.m., unless otherwise pre-arranged.

Check-out Time
10:00 a.m. Check-outs beyond 10:00 a.m. are subject additional charge.

Children
Children of any age are welcome, but parents should be aware there is a stairway and balconies and toddlers must be carefully monitored.

Pets
No pets will be allowed.

Accomodations
Information while deemed reliable is not guaranteed. Distances to the beach and warm pond are approximate. Every effort has been made to assure accurate descriptions. Changes in inventory or items and/or decor occur from time to time and such changes will not void or alter the terms of the rental agreement. Elaine Marie, owner of Ocean Spirit, will not be held responsible for any amenities which are closed down for maintenance purposes or inoperable conditions.

Security Of Ocean Spirit Accomodation
When you rent one of the Ocean Spirit spaces, you assume full responsibility for it and its contents, as well as your personal property. If you are conscious of putting food away when finished with meals, you will be much less likely to incur bugs and insects seeking snacks. Always lock the doors when you leave. And close sliding glass windows in the Triangle and east facing sliding windows in the house. Lock your automobiles when parked.

Occupancy
This is restricted to the number of occupants as agreed upon. Additional people may be allowed at an additional cost if pre-approved.

Telephone
All spaces are equipped with telephones for your convenience and safety. The Studio and Triangle have long distance blocks which cannot be removed and require a credit card to make long distance calls. Please do not abuse this privilege or jeopardize your security deposit by charging or receiving long distance calls to the owner's phone through regular long distance calls, FAX machines or personal computers. Cost of calls plus $15 per bill collection fee will apply.

Cleaning
Your Ocean Spirit Space will be expertly cleaned and inventoried prior to your arrival and again after your departure. The cleaning fee for the Luxurious Apartment is $75, for the Studio is $50, and the Triangle is $75. Excessive departure cleaning, if necessary, will be in addition to the stated charge and deducted from your security deposit or charged to your credit card.

Maintenance and Repairs
We make every effort to ensure that all equipment within each rental is in working order. In the event of a breakdown, we will strive to repair it as soon as possible after being notified of a problem. We cannot guarantee that televisions, appliances, high speed access, etc. will not break down during your stay and therefore, no refunds or adjustments will be made for mechanical failure. Furthermore, there will be no refunds or adjustments made for any other unexpected situation beyond our control such as bugs, rodents, roosters, weather and the like.

Lock-Out Policy
In the event a guest is locked out of the property during the rental period, the guest may borrow a key by calling Carla at 965-1732. Upon arrival, it is recommended that one of the keys be left in the glove compartment of the car, to be used when necessary.

A credit card number is required for all reservations.

All Ocean Spirit accommodations are designated as non-smoking and does not allow pets. Violation of this will result in a de-toxification charge equal to the number of days rent necessary to de-toxify the space.

Rates and amenities are subject to change without notice.

Your security deposit and/or credit card will be charged for any damage, loss, excessive cleaning or any unpaid rent resulting from your stay.

All rates subject to Hawaii State Taxes of GET (General Excise Tax) 4.16% & TAT (Hotel Tax) 7.25%.

No discounts will be in effect during the 12/20 through 01/05 holiday period.

Free WI-FI Internet service is available in the Luxurious Apartment, the Triangle and the Studio.
